Hi, I'm Bernadette
My path to real estate wasn't exactly traditional. I started my career as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, practicing small animal medicine in Denver for three years after moving to Colorado. When my husband Ryan and I started our family — we have three kids, including our youngest Chloe — I stepped away from the clinic.
After Chloe started kindergarten, Ryan suggested I look into real estate. He'd seen how much I loved the process of finding our second home when we moved from Westminster to Erie about 13 years ago. So I jumped in — and I haven't looked back.
It hasn't always been easy. Building a client base takes real effort. But what I've discovered is that I genuinely love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and figuring out how I can connect them — whether it's with the right home, the right professional, or the right community resource. I think of myself as a connector, and that's become the heart of everything I do.

Why I Founded Trellis
During COVID, I connected with a local financial advisor and we noticed the same thing: more and more people were navigating major life transitions — aging, divorce, relocation — often without knowing where to turn.
So we brainstormed and built Trellis — a group of women across financial, legal, and real estate professions who learn from each other's industries. We ask better questions so we know exactly who to refer our clients to. Five years later, we still meet regularly and host seminars for local residents on aging, divorce, and financial planning.
This is what being a connector means to me: it's not just about finding you a house. It's about understanding your whole situation and making sure you're supported by the right people at every step.

Before we talk about selling your home, I ask about your next chapter. I recently met with a couple where the husband had serious health problems — the previous agent only talked about selling, never about where they'd live next. That's not how I work. Your future matters as much as your sale.

I'll be blunt about what your home needs before listing — staging, cleaning, repairs. I know how homes need to look online to get buyers through the door, and I won't sugarcoat it.
